Oil, enamel, collage on canvas
8 x 6 in.
“My recent work has consisted of oil paintings exploring the primal spirit of man and our interconnectivity with the natural world. In this spiritual exploration I have been looking at and referencing Native American mythologies and symbols. Part of this journey has included observing the dichotomy of the human spirit and our physical limitations. The harsh physical reality of our survival has shaped and formed our spirit. What hasn’t killed us makes us better and stronger. The COVID-19 virus has magnified our shortcomings and cracks — at the same time making it very apparent that we are more similar than different — loving, caring, and generous.”
