“There’s all this pain of people suffering alone through the illness. There’s the pain of knowing this wealthy nation is failing its first responders by not giving them the supplies they need. I miss my friends and family. I fear for everyone, but especially for our parents. I'm so grateful for my soulmate and our dog and our home. It’s a time when we think about our own mortality and pray for change—for all of us to do the right things.
The images in this painting and the way it evolved made me think of this Emily Dickinson quote:
‘Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul
And sings the tune without the words
And never stops at all.’”
