Nature Takes Over

“I have been playing with the idea of overdevelopment and overpopulation along with a sort of ‘rear window’ approach to capturing this concept. This particular piece which I have just completed a week ago, speaks to the sense that Nature might have had a play in this pandemic, as a means to take control. Perhaps nature is teaching us a lesson to give back to the earth. We as humans can be greedy at times and always in a hurry.
Here the deer in nearly slow motion are leaping from the building. Is it a fall from grace or a sign of hope that nature will take over if we cannot control ourselves. That it will right things when we do it wrong. There is a lot of open air, open space, and desertedness that also speaks to how eerie it has been for us as we continue to shelter in place. However, I think the bright side of our quarantine is that it also brings clean air, blue skies, and more life to our world.”
