Deep Dive into Now

“The current pandemic is challenging us to not only be interested in visible truths but rather ‘invisible truths’ by shifting from outer material pleasures to the conscious cosmic space and being present in the here and now. Despite all the technological advancements of the last century, we are powerless to nature e.g hurricanes, floods, wildfires, earthquakes and viruses such as COVID-19. Most epidemics are a direct result of our imbalanced relationship to nature and can be linked to careless actions such as breaking down natural systems. These spillovers are increasing exponentially as our ecological footprints bring us closer to wildlife in remote areas and the wildlife trade brings these animals into urban centers which makes us more susceptible to pathogens.
Humanity has become highly disconnected inside our thoughts causing a dangerous imbalance in the ecosystem of human consciousness. With this piece, I want the viewer to feel like they are diving into this cosmic space. The coronavirus has confronted us to move away from a world that for many seemed safe and secure to a new world that is uncertain and uncomfortable. Going through crisis such as the current pandemic should be an opportunity for us to reap the blessings of growth, individually and collectively.
The ongoing pandemic is forcing us to stop putting to much emphasis on our long term goals in expense of living in the moment. We should take time to ‘stop and smell the roses’… slowing down and appreciating the beauty of life rather than getting caught up with all the negativity in the news. Let’s transform the way we think about our place in the world, the fragility of life and our interconnectedness with all living things. Deep dive into now!”
