Small Businesses Team with Local Artists to Create T-shirts Supporting the Hoboken Relief Fund
Solid Threads, an online creative clothing company founded in Hoboken, NJ, is offering a lineup of t-shirts featuring original artwork by seven artists to support the Hoboken Relief Fund. Created in collaboration with the “H-Parade” by Main Street Pops, a Hoboken-based pop up programming company, this one-of-a-kind series of t-shirts combines stylish local flavor with an important charitable cause. Each limited edition t-shirt features the artwork of a Hoboken artist designed within the city’s iconic H logo including work by Andrew Drilon, Chesleigh Meade, Brittany Vogel, Ricardo Roig, Virginia Einstein, Ray Guzman, and Zac Scott Gross.
Eco-friendly and made in the USA, the series is limited to 300 per design or 2,100 total. A portion from every shirt sold is donated directly to the cause with the goal of raising 25K from this exclusive offering. The initiative has raised over 7K so far, and the t-shirts are moving fast—so grab one while supplies last.
Solid Threads not only started on the streets of Hoboken, they are a case-in-point example of the devastating effects this pandemic has had on small business and main streets across America.
Brian Carr, the owner, had just come full circle in the square mile, reopening a second location this past December in the town where it all began, seven years after Hurricane Sandy had forced him to relocate his long standing First Street operation to Vermont. Sadly, he’s had to close this second brick and mortar location just months after opening due to the impact of COVID-19. He’s fortunate to have a healthy online presence and excited to continue representing his Hoboken roots through his online store.
As a gesture of gratitude and a goodbye offering to the community that launched his brand, along with local artists, Solid Threads partnered with Main Street Pops with the goal of raising substantial funds through these community-oriented t-shirts. Main Street Pops mission is to bring communities together and help boost the local economy. They have created a series of fundraiser initiatives to support Hoboken during this challenging time.
