This August, Leonia artist Paul Leibow, will have his work—recent paintings with a few works on paper along with two Lithographs done in Tamarind Institute from his Feel Licks series in The Port Authority Public Art Gallery Displays in New York City.
The exhibition has been extended to November 2019 at The Port Authority Bus Terminal on 9th Ave and 41st., 2nd fl., in NYC.
Showing are paintings on canvas from Paul's most recent works, completed between 2017 through 2019. Two limited-editions prints from his Feel Licks series created with master printer Brandon Gunn, and the two MFA printers on press: Jon Greene and Elena Caruscco will also be included in the show. These lithographs were done at one of the most prestigious lithography studios in America, The Tamarind institute. Tamarind invites Artists in Residence, or artists for contract printing by invitation. They have created works with some of the greats, such as Ed Rucha to Kiki Smith, Georgia O’Keeffe and Jim Dine as well as contemporary artists Nick Cave and Toyin Ojih Odutola.
PAUL LEIBOW was born in NYC in 1961. He studied art at SVA (1983 BFA) and since has had his works shown nationally, including an art film entitled For a Limited Time, catalogued at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. He created art for Bruce Springsteen for albums and branding of his world tour, and for Tamarind Institute, “Arts Residency” for 2019 at UNM. Two Tamarind Institute editions were archived in The Museum of New Mexico. Click here to read more about the artist.
